| Welcome to the Blackball Pool Community | |
|
We are part of a community of over one hundred pool sites of which the first appeared in the late 1990s.
You'll find that the forum and shoutbox have been re-introduced after a lengthy absence and it's again possible to register as a site member.
This is an independent web site primarily promoting blackball pool.... but we are of course happy to promote any major pool events no matter what the rules to which they are played.
You'll find that we are linked on the World Pool Association's web site and that we display blackball rules in a form suitable for download and printing.
We provide numerous services for the blackball community so please register as a site member to make the best of these..... such as free hosting and the blackball banner exchange.
Feel free to post in the forum or submit news about your blackball organisation, league or events. We will willingly publish news about all pool events and there are no restrictions whatsoever on placing non-commercial links.

| | | Tanzanian Pool Team : World Championship 2008 |
| |
 | Five Tanzanian players have been named to form the national pool team that will take part in the World Pool Championships in Swaziland.
The Secretary General of Tanzania Pool Association (TPA), Amos Kafwinga, said yesterday that the initial list had ten players but were trimmed to five. Ten players were selected from five different teams which made it to the Safari Lager National Pool Championship. Amos said the organizers had criteria to pick the team. These include players' discipline, the time they took to finish the game, how they shoot, confidence and the style in which they finish the game.
Brand Manager of Safari Lager, the flagship of Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL) which has sponsored the event, Fimbo Buttallah, said the team will leave the country on August 14, two days before the tournament begins. However, before going to Swaziland, Buttallah said the team has to enter into a training camp first.
The five selected players were Rajabu Matumla, Edward Mgasa, Rahim Kajuna, Omary Akida and Muhammed Jummane.

| | | World Blackball Championships Officially Launched |
| |
 | Press Release.
The African Blackball and World Cup Championships have been officially launched at the Royal Swazi Sun Convention Centre.
This will be the first time the country hosts this world event in pool. There are 22 countries that have confirmed participation in the championships.
Present during the launch were acting Principal Secretary (PS) in the Ministry of Home Affairs Ben Zwane, Sport and Olympic Council of Swaziland (SOCS) vice chairman Sophie Dlamini, SOCS Chief Operation Officer Dan Mavuso and All African Pool Association (AAPA) President Peter Hawley.
Billiards Association of Swaziland (BAS) President Sikhatsi Dlamini announced that the association would be hosting the championships from the 14th to 23rd of August at the Royal Swazi Convention Centre, Ezulwini.
"We are very happy as an association for winning the bid to host the game in the country, not forgetting the contribution that has been made by AAPA towards the development and administration of the sport development in the country. All the credit must go to none other than Peter Hawley as he has been a father and mother of the association. He has done a lot in developing the sport in Africa and world wide," Dlamini said. He said Hawley played a pivotal role in ensuring that the country won the bid to host the games as he was the one who went to Germany with the country's bid documents because the local association could not make it due to financial problems.
"We are expecting players from all over the world to come and enjoy themselves and see the beautiful Kingdom of Eswatini.
We hope that they would get the opportunity to witness the Umhlanga Reed Dance as it has gained so much popularity in the world" he said.
Note : The Umhlanga (Reed Dance) is a traditional dance where twenty to thirty thousand of Swaziland's bare breasted maidens congregate and dance for the public. It usually takes place around August when the weather is less harsh and the reed has matured.

| | | Swaziland Prepares for World Championship |
| |
 | The Billiards Association of Swaziland (BAS) will send three national teams that are preparing for the African Blackball and Word Cup Championships to Namibia to play international friendly games.
The three are the seniors, masters and under 23s teams, announced BAS executive member Vusi Masilela. Two others, the ladies and under 23s B teams, will not travel to Namibia due to lack of funds.
Masilela said they had selected five national teams for the Blackball and World Cup games next month...... but due to the shortage of funds they would only send three to Namibia for the friendly games.
“This would be a great opportunity for the national teams in preparing for the games as South Africa, who is the leading country in the continent, has shown interest in taking part but they are yet to confirm. We hope that the local pool players would learn a lot from these games,” he said.
"We would also like to thank the Sport and Olympic Council of Swaziland (SOCS) and other sponsors that have been supporting us since we started the preparations for the international games in August,” he said.
He requested for sponsorship for the other two teams as they were hoping to send all the squads that would be representing the country in the Championships.
The Blackball and World Cup games will be hosted at the Convention Centre in August. | |
